Sometimes I can't sleep, and something within keeps my heart pounding, my mind awake, my body too tense to settle into my night, until I've exhausted myself by staying up late, or by discovering and doing what I'm supposed to do...

During the year, Gaiam strengthened its community by acquiring Zaadz, a leading social networking site; LIME Media, a multimedia lifestyle company; and a majority ownership of Conscious Enlightenment, an online and offline community. Gaiam also entered into a strategic relationship with Care2, a social networking site with 7.5 million members. Additionally, the Company expanded its solar business with the acquisition of a solar energy integrator.

When Brian Johnson founded Zaadz, a social networking site for people who want to change the world, it was an outgrowth of his dual nature as a philosopher and an entrepreneur.

I will start by saying that I used drugs for many years to achieve an altered state of consciousness. I learned many things from these experiences, but I feel ready to move into exploring the nature of Reality itself. I do not want to judge or criticize anyone who currently uses mind-altering substances, but I am seeking replies from people who have formerly used/abused drugs and have now moved into a phase of feeling content without herbal or pharmaceutical enhancements.

I've been taking Ken's suggestions for ILP pretty seriously and I'm curious what other people are doing for ILP practices. Do you think it's important for your life? Do you wish you were doing more or think you should be but have been unable to for one reason or another? Which practices are you doing? I'm feeling inspired to meditate rigorously after reading One Taste. Here are some excerpts from One Taste, and an interview about One Taste, to set the context.

I've been puzzling over what is so compelling about Jack and Andrew that intelligent adults continue to debate them. I think that Michael referred to how they remind him of his own shadow, which I think is a good insight. Andrew writes that he is actually an asset to Zaadz in terms of the number of postings in the EB pod. However, I'd think that would be offset by the staff time required to clean up the messes created there.

As geeks and new tech enthusiasts, we depend on computer infrastructure and use a lot of greenhouse gas-emitting electricity to grok our world. Deep down inside, we hope the same breakthroughs in science, technology and innovation that make us Twitter with excitement can also help us restore our balance with Nature.

On the Larry King Show this evening, a panel of several people testified about their experiences with UFOs. They were making an appearance on the program apparently in anticipation of an event in Washington, DC, this coming week, where officials and military folks from around the world will be meeting to discuss the UFO phenomenon - and to present the positive evidence that has been collected to date.
