Hello Zaadzsters!
Wouldn't it be great if we had a tool to collect all our favorite Zaadz content, such as blogs, pods, threads, discussions, profiles, books, events, business listings, and even content outside of Zaadz? Wonder no more!
It's my pleasure to introduce to you the coolest new Zaadz feature, Zaadz Bookmarks (zBookmarks). Simpy put: zBookmarks is a social bookmarking tool specifically created for the Zaadz Community.
Currently, zBookmarks is on alpha, meaning that it's live and you can start using it but it's still a work in progress. There are lots of improvements to come (like group lists, and more collaborative features), but for now, feel free to use it and start adding your favorite content from within and outside of Zaadz.
Here's how to get started:
1) If you use popular social bookmarking services like del.icio.us or ma.golia, you can import your existing bookmarks into zBookmarks by following these instructions:
http://bookmarks.zaadz.com/import
Note: For a more detailed instruction, login to your del.icio.us or ma.gnolia accounts, follow the export instructions from there. Once you're done exporting your bookmarks into a file, use that file to import into your Zaadz Bookmarks.
2) Install the zBookmark widget on your browsers (e.g. IE or Firefox) by dragging the link to your browser toolbar.
3) Start bookmarking and tagging web pages by clicking zBookmark on your tool bar whenever you are browsing a page. A pop-up window will open. Then make sure to fill in the title and description fields, and tag your entries, separating multiple tags with a comma (,).
Note: Obsessive-compulsive tagging is healthy :)
4) You can access your bookmarks by clicking on the nursery -> bookmarks tab on the navigation menu, or via your Zaadz URL:
http://<your-zaadz-user-id>.zaadz.com/bookmarks
I can tell you all the cool stuff you can do with zBookmarks, but I'd rather show you some examples.
I've been test-driving zBookmarks for a couple of weeks now. I've imported all my del.icio.us and ma.gnolia bookmarks and added new content. Here are some of my favorites.

You get the idea. So go ahead, start using zBookmarks right away!
NOTE: Since zBookmarks is still on alpha, we expect bugs creeping out. So post those bugs on the zPod:Zaadz Support:Zaadz Bookmarks discussion board. We'd also love to hear your ideas and suggestions to make zBookmarks more awesome. So post your suggestions and ideas on zPod:Thinktank:Zaadz Bookmarks.
P.S. If you enjoy using zBookmarks, give Ryan a big hug. He's the Wizard behind the magic :)

Help

Wonderful! I've been wanting something just like this!
I think I'm missing something though … I don't see the alpha –> bookmarks anywhere. Could you direct me?
Thanks!
good catch. we're changing it into nursery. you can access it very soon once we turn the on the switch :) it should be located on your navigation bar :)
very exciting ~C4 - but what am I missing on export? I saved a file on hard drive of my Google Reader favorites, then imported that file. Do I need to save it with a different extension? I also have several in Technorati and del.ic.ous
Bookmark button on toolbar works wonderful! It will take a while without export but I can add favorites one at a time -
not sure how Google Reader favorites work. but if it uses the same standard export format as that of del.icio.us and ma.gnolia then you shouldn't have a problem importing it. will ask around some more….
Hi Bobbo!
Sorry I am so late in getting back to you - a bit under ther weather!
As far as I know Google Reader is just for Feeds (like are RSS and Atom) - and in face I use GR for the zBookmarks feed. If you are referring to Google Bookmarks, there is alas not an export on Google for that. However, there are thirdy-party solution for this, although I have not tried any. For example, if you use Firefox, this exension here can export Google Bookmarks.
If I misunderstood you please forgive and let me know how :)
I'm really glad that you are finding this useful Bobbo! It's a fun project to develop too.
both you guys are right…its me who confusaled my feeds with my bookmarks! You should see the smoke come out my ears when my brain starts working too hard -
I was just so excited to see how zBookmarks worked :) One of the best parts about zaadz is discovering, trying, and learning the capabilities of the medium - that along with the cool (and patient zaadzters)
I'll spend some time this weekend to do import from del.icio.us - whatcha bet its a *snap*!
Great day to You -
Bobbo
