You can do most of this on a Windows machine, but it takes some tweaking and it sure as hell doesn't look as good!

I never owned a Mac, but I'm not ruling out the possibility of trying one, some time in the future, when I have casheesh like Zaadz ;-)

Diederick, yes, you can do this on a Windows machine. e.g. using Yahoo Widgets. however, it would make your machine crawl like a drunk caterpillar because those widget apps consume memory like sailors in a wine cellar.
